Exactly 2 more weeks and I'm gone! 5 days at work and 9 days chilling, meeting friends and taking care of last minute necessities. Which will be shopping related I assume. And yes, I know, I shouldn't buy anything here as in Bangkok (my first stop) the same product can be found wayyy cheaper. But easier said than done.
I'm also having serious problems with packing. The sport gear (climbing gear, yoga mat, hiking boots & clothing) has already filled up my backpack. When I add 3 cameras & a laptop I wont be having any space for normal clothes anymore. But how much do I really need? A bikini, 2 pair of shorts and a few sleeves tops. And a longsleeve for Malaysia. No space for a thick jacket for Tibet & Alaska. Hmmm...
And I DID manage to squeeze Tokyo into the plan!!! I even already booked a hotel, which is quite weird considering I dont know where I'll be staying in Thailand. But I found a quite "cheap" one near to the fish market so I had to grab it. Meaning I'll be eating sushi 24/7 and rolling to LA a few days later.
So, I've got the most of the important (=long) flights booked. The car problem is also solved, thanx to my parents. Now I only have to be patient and wait... Not really my speciality.
Thailand-Borneo-Sulawesi-Singapore-Nepal-China-Japan-LA-Alaska-Jamaica-Iceland. Sounds like a plan. Even though I didn't wanna have one.

Can I go already???
This blog is meant for my family & friends who might wanna follow my doings on the other side of the globus. I'd rather write in finnish but as some special people in GER&IRL&UK&whoknowswhere might also want to know I'm alive, I suppose I have to do it in a funny language. So you should read&comment, otherwise I'm quickly changing back to the comfort zone.
I still have to find a place for my car, otherwise I'm sooooo ready to go. I've given notice at work, I made tax&vat clearance for this year already a month ago and my backpack is half packed. But I still have to wait for a month. What a horror. 3 weeks at work and one week taking care of the rest of all kinds of practical necessities. On my birthday I'm getting myself pumped up with loads of weird vaccinations. That'll be a celebration! If that cocktail of foreign antigenic materials in my body wont make me sick - nothing does.
At new years eve I can finally use my oneway ticket to Bangkok! I'll land Jan 1st and will kick off the year 2012 with a Singha in my hand.
After that I've got at least 7 months in front of me without snow, minus degrees & office. Instead there'll be lots of bears, rhinos, volcanoes, mountains&climbing and a few beaches.
The return ticket is still to be booked. Or maybe I'll just stay in a bamboo hut in Borneo or Sannas trailer in Anchorage. Who knows. The plan anyways is to travel around Asia from Jan to May and then move forward towards North America. Beginning June I should see the peaks of Alaska in front of me. Yayy! From there I might head to Iceland & Norway (yea, I know, once again, I'm boring...). But we shall see about that later.
